Suka stared up at Blue Waters University with wide eyes.

He was finally here. After years of toil and suffering (the names “Shinobu and Mitsuru” mysteriously pop to mind) he was finally away from it all. True, he would miss Ryoukouen Academy and Greenwood, but it would be refreshing to step into a new school.

While it was sad that Shun had decided to apply somewhere else, Suka had smiled and wished his roommate well, knowing that all good things had to eventually come to an end. Besides, there was always letters and visits. Mitsuru and Shinobu were allegedly at Tokyo University, having easily gained entrance into the top university and Suka fervently praised the heavens again for having placed that campus almost half the island away from his own.

Not that he hated them. It was just more… peaceful when they were not around. His mind involuntarily coughed up images of ghosts, nosebleeds, months of teasing and bullying etc, without any trouble and he repressed a shudder.

Yes, much quieter.

He looked up at the dignified buildings that would become his new home and he smiled.

At last he was here. It had seemed that his first year at Greenwood had been planning to replay itself, but fortunately, he had been somewhat healthier, and had only managed to miss one week of school.

He sighed as he thought back to the events of the past month. Of the frantic rush to the exams when all power had mysteriously gone out, and he had been almost made late due to the stoppage of the trams, of the 4 returned university application forms he had received till he had realized that the address had been illegible/wrong/smudged badly and changed, of the chicken pox he had managed to catch just one week before the start of term and of his almost even later arrival when he had almost missed his train.

He straightened his shoulders. Still, it would be a new start, a fresh start, all links to his old life broken. Well, not totally, he thought as he smiled at the thought of Igarashii waiting for him. They had decided to apply to the same university together and he was looking forward to seeing her more often, and *not* under the prying, though well meaning eyes of his friends.

Carrying his luggage, he entered the hallowed halls of the university. He breathed in deeply… yes, there it was, the smell of freedom, of total independence, of a clean slate, of a fresh start…

“Hey Suka! What took you so long?” A familiar pink, long-haired head popped out of a nearby door and Suka choked on his breath in reply.

“Shun?! What…”

“Suka’s here?” Another familiar voice rang through the halls and Suka could only watch in dawning horror as its owner stepped out of another door, his amethyst eyes sparkling in welcome.

“Finally.” Shinobu said quietly as he followed behind his roommate and watched amused as Suka struggled to regain control of his breathing processes and speech faculties.

“I… what… you… Blue Waters… Tokyo…”

“Well, Blue Waters has been doing rather well as a university and its programs are a lot more flexible than Tokyo University so Shinobu and I decided to transfer here.” Mitsuru explained simply and grinned down at Suka while Shun nodded in reply.

“Sou desu ne. I decided to come here as well since it was newer and sounded a lot more interesting than the programs in the other schools. We thought we would give you a surprise when you came.” Shun smiled and grabbed a suitcase from Suka’s limp hand while his roommate started spiraling down into his own personal abyss of despair.

Oh no… this cannot be happening. This cannot be! I escaped them! I did!

The sound of footsteps distracted Suka from the patter of his friends’ and he turned to see Igarashii come out of another door, seemingly deep in conversation with another party.

“…Yes sir, it is nice to meet you. I agree, families shouldn’t be split up…” Looking up, she noticed Suka and smiling, ran up to him and hugged him. Suka smiled and his arms reached up, about to return the hug, but he stopped midway, his eyes caught by a pair of twinkling blue eyes beyond Igasrashii. Eyes that he knew very well.

It can’t be… it can’t…

His jaw gaped, looking at the scene that he would have done anything, absolutely anything to avoid.

Shun, Mitsuru, Shinobu and his brother standing in the corridor of his new school, not out of place, actually looking like they belonged, and *smiling* at him.

“Hello, Suka,” Kazuhiro waved. “I was getting tired of Greenwood, and decided for a change of air. So, I applied to Blue Waters and they gave me a job.” He winked at his brother. “What a sheer coincidence that it turns out to be the one that you had applied to!!”

All four beamed at him and Hasukawa gave them his reply the only way he knew how.

“AAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!”
